Frequently Asked Questions

Answer: Yes, with good marks attained, our grade 12 certificate makes all students eligible for consideration at south african tertiary institutions, subject to space availability and specific faculty entry requirements.

Answer: Yes, your child will easily adapt, because we offer a high standard education which is CAPS aligned.

Answer (a): The small “office” in which students sit to work in class is an ordinary work surface with, at both sides of each student, just a painted partition. The children can still talk to each other in class and interact, but the partitions help to have a great disciplined working atmosphere in class.

Answer (b): Each classroom is equipped with a whiteboard on which the teacher explains school work to the entire class’s students. When a student individually needs help, the student just indicates to the teacher that he/she needs help, and the teacher then assists the student personally.

Answer (a): Learners admitted to the school in Grade R must be 5 years old turning 6 years in the year of admission.

Answer (b): Learners admitted to the school in Grade 1 must be 6 years old turning 7 years in the year of admission.

The reason for this is emotional readiness, fine motor skills, and social readiness. At Ezekiel Christian School, we test the child when going to Grade 1.

Answer: When a child is a younger age as their peers, it may result in the child’s self-esteem suffering. Learners may be traumatized when they cannot keep up with the pace and requirements in the classroom when going from Gr. R to Gr. 1, which may result in a feeling of failure.

Answer: A lack in the development of fine motor skills results in the child not being able to handle the workload in the classroom. Children constantly compare themselves to the rest of the class. If they feel they cannot finish tasks as quickly and as neatly as the rest of the class, school becomes a burden, which may lead to the child struggling academically.

Answer: When a child lacks the same maturity as their classmates, it can lead to difficulties in making friends and fostering healthy relationships. Confidence and self-esteem can suffer as a result.
